Miss June with a little girl from the orphanage
Our Queens are usually given their cash prizes, no strings attached. Yet a handful of them have carried out small projects during their tenures. Miss March, Otishi Idukwu, chose to enlighten the public about COVID-19; Miss April, Peace Mgbede, carried out a skill acquisition program. Miss June, Joy Akpa, decided to spend a portion of her earnings on orphans at an orphanage in her town of abode.
Miss Joy Akpa hails from Otukpo local government area of Benue state and is the 6th of 7 children. She attended Heritage Academy where I gained my primary school certificate then moved to Baptist High School Makurdi for her secondary school education. She is currently a 300 Level student of the University of Jos studying biochemistry.
She aspires to get a second degree in Medicine and surgery as her dream is to become a doctor in order to make a difference in the healthcare system of our great country, Nigeria.
The management of Firmus Communication Ventures wishes her the best of luck even as we hope she makes a strong push for the Miss Year scheduled to take place in December 2020. We appreciate all our queens especially those making a difference out of what they have and hope more of our future queens take a cue from these initiatives.
