Reports have it that one of Nigeria’s finest Afro Beat stars, Kizz Daniel (full name Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe), has joined the American record label, EMPIRE Distribution, Records and Publishing Inc. The news, which was released on the record label’s twitter handle, should certainly be music to the young music producer’s ears. Recall that Kizz Daniel, who made his debut onto the Nigeria music scene via G-Worldwide Entertainment in 2013, suffered an acrimonious parting of ways with them, a situation which landed the pair in court. Known as Kiss Daniel at the time, the Abeokuta born music star wound up establishing FlyBoy Inc. in 2017 after the split and had to change his stage name from Kiss to Kizz in 2018. FlyBoy Inc. has since signed up a couple of acts, Demmie Vee and Philkeyz.
While other musicians who also left G-Worldwide appear to have faded into oblivion, Kizz Daniel has only gone from strength to strength, belying his youthful, soft look. By this move to Empire, the multi-award-winning singer has established himself in the company of global stars also handled by Empire such as Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, Busta Rhymes and our very own Olamide to name a few. It is evident with Nigerian music stars gradually inching their way into the mainstream global music scene that Nigeria is looking to become a global power in the entertainment industry.
We wish Kizz Daniel the best of this contract and will be keeping you posted about his progress.
