FURY, THE NEW WBC HEAVY WEIGHT CHAMPION

The Tyson Fury/Deontay Wilder match has come and gone with a surprising defeat for Wilder who till the match had remained the unbeaten World Boxing Council Heavyweight Champion a post he has held since 2005.

Fury who gave an outstanding performance on the 22 of February, won in the 7th round leaving Wilder with a bleeding ear after a Technical Knock Out. In the match which took place in Las Vegas, Fury took control in the first round and kept the upper hand all through. Slightly taller than Wilder at 6 ft 9 ins, Fury’s height seemed to serve as added advantage over his slightly shorter opponent standing at 6ft 5 ins.

Fury, a British citizen is 31 years old and is now the WBC Heavyweight champion having defeated Wilder.
