COMMISSIONER MOM COMMISERATES WITH THE MUSILIU-SMITH AND JOMBO-OFOR FAMILIES

Bar. Rommy Mom, a Commissioner representing the Civil Society at the Police Service Commission, has extended condolences to the Chairman of the Commission, a former Inspector-General of Police, Alhaji Musiliu Smith, over the loss of his wife, Alhaja Ariat Aderoju Smith (nee Jinadu) who died on Friday the 5th of June 2020. She was interred according to Islamic rites on Saturday the 6th.

Her death comes on the heels of the sudden demise of Dr. Nkemka Osimiri Jombo- Ofor, an Honourable Commissioner representing the Organized Private Sector at the PSC. He died on Wednesday the 3rd of June 2020 in Enugu at the age of 70 after a brief illness. He was until his death the Chairman of the Commission’s Standing Committee on Strategy Development and Member of several other Standing Committees of the Commission.

Dr. Jombo-Ofor was married to Hon. Justice Ifeoma Jombo-Ofor of the Court of Appeal, Port Harcourt Division, Rivers State.

Bar. Mom expressed shock and great dismay at these sorrowful incidents and prayed God to grant the families of the 2 consolation in their time of grief. Mom was particularly saddened by Dr. Jombo-Ofor’s death owing to their close working relationship and the suddenness of his demise. Jombo-Ofor is survived by 3 children.
