The Honourable Minister of Education has called for interested and qualified Nigerians to apply for the 2021/2022 Federal Government Scholarship Awards. This scholarship award is open for undergraduate and postgraduate studies in the countries that Nigeria has a bilateral education agreement, or BEA, with.
This means that those who get the scholarship will be eligible to study in countries such as Hungary, Egypt, Russia, and Romania, amongst others.
To apply, visit this link – https://education.gov.ng/fsb/ – and click the big yellow rectangle with ‘Click here to apply’ written on it.
Make sure you read the guidelines before you complete the application, which is an online form. Once completed, print out the filled application form.
You can do this on your own at home, as long as you have a phone (Android or iOs) or a laptop, and a good internet connection. Application is free: you are NOT required to pay an application fee or a processing fee.
Who Qualifies for the Scholarship Award?
For undergraduates, you must be 17 to 20 years of age, must have at least 5 distinctions in your SSSC exams, including Mathematics, English Studies, and subjects relevant to your course. Also, your WAEC certificate shouldn’t be more than one year old.
For postgraduates, you must be at most 35 years old to qualify for a Masters’ programme, and at most 40 years old to qualify for a Ph.D. programme. All postgraduate applicants must have a first degree with a 1 st class or 2 nd class upper. Also, you must have completed your NYSC programme, or gotten an exemption certificate. If you have a job, you need a letter from your employer stating that you have been released for studies.
